The Senior Accounting Manager / Assistant Controller will collaborate closely with the CFO to ensure the delivery of accurate and timely financial information, overseeing month-end processes, and ensuring compliance with sales and indirect tax filings. This role involves proactive trend analysis, identifying key performance indicators, and monitoring financial metrics to support business decision-making. Additionally, the Senior Accounting Manager / Controller will work cross-functionally with other departments to address operational issues, respond to customer inquiries, and fulfill reporting and analytics requests.
The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess a strong work ethic, display leadership skills and be a hands-on member who is driven to understand the business's goals and challenges. This individual will excel at optimizing processes, identifying revenue growth opportunities, and implementing resource optimizing strategies.
Essential Functions:
Manages month-end close processes.
Assists in company budgets and pricing strategies.
Manages U.S. sales tax and foreign indirect tax compliance and filing.
Monitors and reports on KPIs.
Prepares accurate and timely financial reports.
Researches, documents and interprets tax regulations.
Advises on best practices and internal controls within the Accounting Department and the organization.
Collaborates with other departments to ensure efficient and accurate process and operational outcomes.
Acquires in-depth knowledge of the functions and integration between accounting and other software platforms.
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field required.
Current CPA license required.
Practical experience with accounting and tax subject matter research and interpretation required.
Work experience with U.S. sales taxes and foreign indirect taxes is preferred.
Prior public accounting experience is preferred.
Prior experience with accounting and related system implementation is a plus.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Although this position is mostly remote, candidates must reside in Texas and commute to the downtown Austin area twice a week, or as business necessitates
